As longtime fans of Jeff Goldsmith’s Q&A podcast, we’re thrilled to be interviewed for the January 2019 issue of his excellent screenwriting magazine, Backstory. We talk about our 2018 BloodList script Inner Beast. Read it here, and subscribe.
The kind folks at Script Pipeline also interviewed us about our journey working as screenwriters in Australia and the US. Take a look.
We’re stunned and thrilled to learn our horror/comedy pilot Inner Beast has made the 2018 BloodList, the entertainment industry’s yearly selection of the best unproduced horror and dark genre screenplays.
Inner Beast was selected in the Fresh Blood category, and the script is available to download and read from The BloodList website.
We’re grateful to BloodList founder Kailey Marsh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners for putting our pilot on a list that has championed so many cool genre scripts and writers.
We're thrilled to learn our horror-comedy pilot, Inner Beast, has been selected as a finalist in the 2018 Script Pipeline TV Writing Contest.
An earlier script of ours, My Fist Your Face, made the finals a few years ago, so we're excited to have been selected by this awesome and supportive organisation once more.
We’re looking forward to meeting the other finalists at the awards presentation event in LA in late July.
We're excited to have written three episodes in the latest season super-fun animated series Jar Dwellers SOS from Melbourne studio Viskatoons, currently airing on Channel 11 Australia. The Jar Dwellers are a bunch of adorable critters from far flung corners of the world, who were trapped and stored in glass jars 150 years ago. When science-loving Sophie and her brother David accidentally free them, they must protect the Jar Dwellers from evil Professor Van Riceberger and his long-suffering assistant Chang.
Having recently relocated to Los Angeles, it was exciting to discover our comedy pilot My Fist Your Face was selected for the CineStory TV/Digital Retreat in Idyllwild, California. We had an amazing time working with fellow writers and mentors in a gorgeous mountain setting. We thoroughly recommend applying to their screenwriting labs.
The kind folks at LiveRead LA and Australians in Film also recently selected My Fist Your Face for their April live read in front of an audience at the Charlie Chaplin Theater at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles. Thanks to the incredible cast who brought the script to life, and the audience for such invaluable feedback.
We're happy to learn that our comedy pilot Easy, Tiger has been selected for the AWG's Pathways Showcase.
Easy, Tiger is a horror/comedy and a very Tasmanian take on the werewolf myth. Here's the logline:
A journalist is faced with a hairy situation: she discovers she's part Tasmanian tiger. Now she must lead a double-life to put her town off the scent and find a cure.
The script was also recently awarded Highly Commended in the AWG / ABC Laugh Out Loud contest.
